Troubleshooting for replying to or hiding comments

Sometimes you might receive an error message in Swat.io when trying to reply to or hide a comment. In most cases, this happens because either the comment or the whole post no longer exists on the social media platform.

How can you check if a comment still exists?

If you receive an error message when replying to or hiding a comment, it’s usually because the original post or the comment itself has already been deleted on the platform.

Note: Swat.io is not always notified about these deletions. This is because the APIs provided by the social media platforms do not transmit this information to us in every case.

As a result, you might still see comments in your Inbox that have already been removed from the platform.

How to verify if the comment is still available

Click on the timestamp of the comment or the original post in your Inbox. This will take you directly to the corresponding post or comment on the social media platform:

If no post is displayed...

  • The post was most likely deleted.

If the post is shown, but the specific comment is missing...

  • The comment itself was probably deleted.

The comment is still visible, but you still receive an error?

  • If the comment is still visible on the platform, but you're receiving an error when trying to reply or hide it, please contact our support team via the chat in the bottom-right directly in Swat.io. We’re happy to help!
