What are Drafts?

Drafts are a feature in Swat.io that allows you to temporarily save your ideas and content so you can come back to them later to further develop or publish. It serves as your digital notebook for planning and organizing your social media posts directly within the tool.

Who Can Create a Draft?

The "Drafts" feature doesn't have its own permissions but follows the permissions for the Publisher. The following table lists all permission types for drafts:

Suggest Only

How Can I Create a Draft?

To create a draft, simply select the "Drafts" option under the "Publisher" category.

Then click on the blue "Create Draft" button, which will open a new window where you can create your draft.

Optionally, an already created post can also be converted into a draft. For this, you just need to open the said post in the calendar and then press the "Create Draft" button.

How Can I View or Publish My Drafts?

If you want to view, edit, or publish your drafts in the future, just go back to the "Drafts" option, and we will show you all the drafts from you or your colleagues in the overview.

After opening a draft, you can immediately edit it or convert it into a post by simply pressing the designated button.

After pressing the "Schedule as Post" button, a new window will open where you can select the channel for which the post should be created.

Once you selected the desired channel, you will then be asked about the post type, where you can choose one of the available options.

After pressing "Continue," your draft will then be displayed as a post in the Composer.

What is the Difference/Advantage of Scheduling Ideas?

Creating drafts of your ideas instead of a post with one idea can have several advantages. Here is a brief list of points on how drafts can help you in your daily life:

  • Structure: Drafts provide you with much better structure and organization. All your ideas are saved in one place and remain there, so you never have to search for your ideas in your calendar again.

  • Collaboration: Drafts are visible to the entire team in a workspace, allowing you to be inspired by colleagues' ideas or to further develop them.

  • Flexibility: Compared to our Composer, drafts offer more freedom. There are no limitations on text length or specifications for image file formats, perfect for quickly capturing an idea.

  • Speed: Creating a draft is significantly quicker than creating a fully-fledged post. This saves time and allows for efficient pre-planning of your content.

  • Separation of Concern: Avoid cluttering your calendar with half-baked posting placeholders. By using drafts, you can maintain a clear distinction between ideas in development and finished posts.
