Getting Started with Publisher and Composer

Written by Patrick Diem

This article walks you through how to create a new post in Swat.io, select a channel, set a publishing date, and choose your publishing mode.

Important: In order to publish posts with Swat.io, you first have a social media channel connected. Learn how to add channels here in our Help Center.

Create a New Post

  1. Go to Publisher in the left sidebar.

  2. Click the "Create" button.

  3. Select the channel through which the post should be published.

This opens the Post Composer, where you can create your post.

Note: Only one channel can be selected when creating a post. Once created, you can duplicate or adapt the post for additional channels.

Use Cases and Best Practices

  • Use Automatic publishing for posts that are pre-approved and ready to go live without further intervention.

  • Opt for Reminder publishing when posts require final review or manual adjustments before going live.

  • Regularly review your channel settings to ensure they align with your team’s workflow and publishing needs.

Steps to Configure Default Publishing Settings for Facebook Posts

By default, posts in Swat.io may be set to "Reminder" instead of "Automatic." To ensure that new posts are set to publish automatically by default, follow these steps:

  1. Open the Settings menu in Swat.io.

  2. Navigate to Workspace > Channels.

  3. Select the relevant channel.

  4. Scroll down to the Publisher section.

  5. Enable the default option "Automatic publish". Once this setting is enabled, all newly created or duplicated posts for that channel will default to "Automatic" publishing. You can disable this option later if you prefer to use reminders instead.

Automatic Publishing

  • Posts are published automatically at the scheduled time without requiring any manual action.

  • The post must have a status of "Approved" for automatic publishing to occur.

Reminder Publishing

  • Posts are not published automatically. Instead, the assigned user receives a reminder (e.g., via email) 10 minutes before the scheduled time.

  • The user must manually publish the post after receiving the reminder.
