Collaboration Posts on Instagram

What are Collaboration Posts?

Collaboration Posts allow you to share content together with other Instagram accounts. The post will appear in the feed of both profiles. The following post types are currently supported:

  • 📸 Instagram Posts

  • 🎞️ Reels

  • 📹 Videos

How to Create a Collaboration Post

  1. Create a Post
    Start by creating a post using one of the supported post types.

  2. Add a Collab Partner
    Click the “Collab Partner” button located in the Specifications section of the post editor.

  3. Enter the Account(s)
    A text field will appear. Here you can add up to three different Instagram accounts.

  4. Verify the Tagged Account
    Make sure the correct account is linked by clicking the blue “Here” link shown under each account name.

  5. Save or Publish Your Post
    Once everything is set, you can either publish the post or save/schedule it for later.


Accepting a Collaboration Post

If you've been invited to collaborate on a post, you can only accept the invitation in the mobile Instagram app (not via the web version).

Here’s how:

  1. Open the Instagram mobile app

  2. Go to the post of the person who invited you

  3. You’ll see a prompt under the post saying: “Accept Collaboration?”

  4. Tap “Accept” the post will now appear in your own feed

Requirements for Collab Accounts

Not all accounts are eligible for collaboration. The following conditions must be met for an account to be added:

  • The profile must be public

  • The profile must not be restricted

  • You must not have blocked the account
