Publishing Shared Posts on Facebook via Swat.io

In this article, you’ll learn how to plan and publish Facebook shared posts in Swat.io using a simple workaround, since Facebook does not currently support this feature through the official API.

Create a Shared Post

At the moment, Facebook does not allow publishing shared posts directly via the API. With the following workaround, however, you can still schedule a shared post in Swat.io:

  1. Copy the direct link to the original post

    • Open the desired post on Facebook.

    • Click on the timestamp of the post and copy the URL from your browser’s address bar.

  2. Insert the link in Swat.io

    • Open the Publisher in Swat.io and create a new Facebook post.

    • Paste the copied link as a link post.

    Note: Facebook does not generate a preview for this type of link. However, this does not affect the publication.

  3. Publish the post

    • Schedule or publish the post as usual. This is how the shared post will look once published:
