What is a Team?

In Swat.io, you can easily create and manage your own teams with just a few clicks. A team consists of a group of members who share the same user roles for a defined selection of channels.

Info: This feature is included in our Large- and Custom-packages. You can find more details on the packages and the included features here.

The big advantage:

With a single setting, you can automatically apply the desired permissions to all new team members - saving you time and helping you maintain a clear overview of access rights in Swat.io.

Creating a Team

You can create a new team in the general workspace settings.

Note: In order to access the workspace settings, you need permissions as “Workspace Manager”. If you don’t have this permission, please contact your Swat.io administrator.

  1. Open the general Workspace Settings by clicking on your account name in the lower-left corner.

  2. Click on the tab “Teams”.

  3. Set a new team name and confirm it.

Add Channels and Members

After creating a new team in Swat.io the next step is to define which channels and members should be part of it.

Add the channels which user roles should be managed by the team. All team members will automatically receive the corresponding permissions for those channels.

Add members to the team by either selecting existing users who are already part of the workspace or invite new members to Swat.io by entering their email addresses. This option is only available if they do not yet have a Swat.io account.

This is also the place where you can manage the team after the initial setup, for example change the team name, remove members or modify and update the channels assigned to the team.

Delete a Team

If a certain team is no longer needed, you can delete it completely from this section.

Important: Deleting a team is a permanent action and cannot be undone.

Manage User Roles

Once at least one channel and one member have been added to a team, you can define user roles per channel in the team settings.

This allows you to assign different roles for Publisher, Analytics and optionally Inbox access to each channel (e.g., Read Only, Full,...).

For an overview of the different user roles available in Swat.io, please refer to this article.

Automatic role adjustment

If users already have permissions for a certain channel that belongs to the team you are adding them to, their existing permissions will automatically be updated to match the roles assigned within the team.
