The Publisher settings in Swat.io let you define how new posts behave by default, streamlining your editorial workflow. You can enable “Auto publish” per default for new posts, match imported posts to avoid duplicates and structure your planning in calendar using predefined post-slots. These settings will help to ensure consistency, save time and improve the collaboration across your team.
Info: In order to access the workspace-settings in Swat.io, you need permissions as “workspace manager”. In case you don’t have this permission, please contact your Swat.io administrator.
How to access the Publisher-settings
Open the "Workspace Settings" by clicking your account name in the bottom-left corner.
Navigate to the "Publisher" section.
Open the "Channels" section - there you’ll find the following settings for each of your connected social media channels.
Default "Auto-publish"
With the setting default “Auto-Publish” new posts will automatically be created with the “Auto-Publish” preset in Publisher. If this option is disabled, the “Remind Me” preset is used instead - meaning the post will not be published automatically per default. This setting can still be adjusted individually for each post at any time in Publisher.
Match imported posts
The “Match Imported Posts” setting checks posts imported into Swat.io from your social media channels for text similarity with already scheduled posts in Publisher. This helps avoiding duplicates in your calendar - for example, when a post is published directly on a social media platform. Once a similarity is detected, the imported post will be merged with the scheduled one in Swat.io and therefore will not appear twice in Publisher.
Info: This feature is included in our Medium-, Large- and Custom-packages. You can find more details on the packages and the included features here.
Predefined Post Slots
With the default setting “Predefined Post Slots”, you can display placeholders in the calendar to better structure your weekly planning. This is especially helpful for recurring posts. With just a few clicks in Publisher, you can turn a placeholder into a scheduled post - specifying the exact day and time of publication.
If a post slot is not used, it will automatically disappear from the Publisher once the scheduled time has passed.
Note: In our Medium-, Large-, and Custom-plans, you can also add tags to our predefined post slots to make analyzing these posts in our Analytics-section much easier - or to quickly find scheduled posts based on their assigned tags.
